Saks Fifth Avenue was named in MR’s top 100, a ranking of innovators, insights and ideas that are impacting the world of menswear in 2008. Featured in the February edition of the magazine, Saks was selected for its customer focus, intelligent brand strategy, and strong merchandise assortments.
2008 Retail Advertising Conference (RAC) Awards
Saks Fifth Avenue won Gold and Silver RACie’s in the multimedia campaign large store category for its Want IT! and 10022-SHOE marketing campaigns. Recipients of the RACie’s or Retail Awards for Creativity, Innovation and Excellence, are chosen based on the creativity and impact of their campaigns. Sponsored by the Retail Advertising & Marketing Association (RAMA), the RAC Awards Competition is the industry’s most prestigious creative contest for retail broadcast and print advertising.
Women’s Footwear Retailer of the Year – Footwear News
Saks Fifth Avenue was recognized for its ground-breaking innovation in the introduction of its shoe floor concept in the New York Store, 10022-SHOE. Generating widespread press and industry buzz, the shoe floor opened in August 2007 and boasts its own zip code, postage stamps, and express elevator; marketing initiatives that were industry firsts.
Retailer of the Year – DNR
The company was recognized in 2007 for being one of the industry’s most impressive turnaround stories, accomplishing several projects such as building new shops for Canali and Zegna, as well as updated boutiques for Polo and Armani, improvements that highlight the company’s most productive menswear businesses and make authoritative statements.
